Locums – Galesburg, Illinois – Anesthesiology/Pain Management Physician Job

Clinical Role:

• Locum tenens opportunity for an anesthesiologist with fellowship training in Pain Medicine

• Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology and/or Pain Medicine

• Anesthesiology residency and Pain Medicine fellowship required

• Experience performing interventional pain procedures required

• Illinois medical license required

• Outpatient, procedure-focused interventional pain practice

• No general anesthesia cases or responsibilities

• No chronic opioid or other chronic pain medication management or prescribing

Schedule & Call:

• Monday–Tuesday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM onsite

• Wednesday: May include a half-day clinic followed by call coverage, or call coverage only; final schedule to be determined

• During Wednesday call, the physician may remain offsite but must be locally available to return to the facility if needed

• Call responsibilities may include:

  • Patient follow-up and phone calls

  • Consultations

  • Overflow procedures or cases

  • Follow-up on patients seen earlier in the week

Practice & Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients and develop appropriate interventional treatment plans

• Perform fluoroscopy-guided and other image-guided pain procedures

• Follow up with patients after procedures and address clinical questions or concerns

• Provide consultations and assist with overflow cases as needed

• Procedures include:

  • Lumbar and cervical epidural steroid injections

  • Trigger point injections

  • Radiofrequency ablations

  • Facet joint injections

  • Medial branch blocks

  • Hip and other joint injections

  • Other interventional pain procedures within the physician’s scope of practice

• Must be comfortable working exclusively in an outpatient procedural pain setting without chronic medication management

• EMR: Epic
