Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery Locum Tenens Opportunity - Topeka, KS
Position Overview
University of Kansas Health System / St. Francis Health Center is seeking two Locums Physician Assistants to augment our Cardiothoracic Surgery service line while we conduct a search for permanent staff members. This is a locum tenens position with scheduled clinical hours plus call coverage. The facility is located less than 1 hour east of Kansas City and utilizes the Epic EMR system. Candidates should be skilled and independent at vein harvesting using the Maquet Vasoview system. Availability needed for two weeks per month on the following schedule:

Key Responsibilities
Provide cardiothoracic surgery support in both outpatient and inpatient settings
Perform vein harvesting procedures utilizing Maquet Vasoview system
See 6-10 outpatient patients and 2-10 inpatient patients weekly
Handle 2-10 patient encounters per shift
Participate in beeper call with 30-minute response time, 7 days per week
Round on assigned patients
Approximately 50% hands-on clinical work
Candidate Requirements
Active Physician Assistant (PA) license
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Hospital privileges required (temporary privileges available)
Proven experience and independence with vein harvesting procedures
Ability to work in both outpatient and inpatient settings
CV/Resume required for bidding
Estimated credentialing time: 45-90 days
