Internal Medicine - Interventional Cardiology
Position Overview
Locum tenens position for inpatient cardiology coverage with scheduled clinical hours plus call responsibilities. This is a long-term vacancy coverage opportunity beginning January on an ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities
Provider will hold the pager for the full duration of their assignment, scheduled as a 9-hour regular day plus night call.
During weekdays, provider will cover cardiology inpatient service with an inpatient Advanced Practice Clinician.
Weeknight (Monday through Friday) call covers any urgent inpatient catheterizations, temporary pacemakers, STEMIs, stat echos, and EP calls.
During weekends, provider will cover General and EP Cardiology hospital service, including any inpatient catheterizations, STEMIs, and stat echos.
EP coverage is included in this role to assist with urgent inpatient and consults over the weekend and weeknights. During weekdays, an EP cardiologist will handle EP coverage.
Candidate Requirements
Must be available 10 days per month beginning January with a strong preference for two 5-day stretches each hitting a weekend, though one 10-day stretch per month hitting two weekends would be acceptable. This availability commitment is ongoing and required for any conforming bid.
Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is a required skill.
Must be out of fellowship and practicing independently for at least one year.
Board certification required and must be current.
Fellowship training is required.
30-minute call response time required.
