POSITION OVERVIEW
Seeking a full-time Internal Medicine Staff Physician to join an innovative Value-Based Care Clinic in Dallas, Texas.
This role combines direct patient care with academic responsibilities and resident mentorship. The physician will serve as core faculty for an Internal Medicine Health Equity Track while providing evidence-based, population-centered care in a collaborative academic environment focused on health equity, quality improvement, value-based care, and community-centered medicine.
TEACHING & EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track
- Supervise Internal Medicine residents in a clinic-based experiential learning environment
- Provide real-time clinical teaching in:
- Primary care
- Population health
- Value-based care
- Health equity-focused practice
- Teach residents to incorporate social determinants of health and community-engaged care approaches
- Promote equity-centered clinical decision-making
- Participate in journal clubs, lecture series, case conferences, and resident workshops
- Mentor residents in quality improvement initiatives, health equity research, and scholarly projects
- Provide formative and summative feedback to residents
- Collaborate with residency and program leadership on curriculum development and improvement
- Align educational activities with ACGME competencies and organizational priorities
DIRECT PATIENT CARE
- Provide comprehensive Internal Medicine care within a value-based care setting
- Apply evidence-based guidelines and value-based care principles
- Help establish and refine value-based clinical standards
- Utilize population health tools and risk stratification
- Implement care coordination strategies to improve outcomes
- Address healthcare disparities and non-medical drivers of health
- Provide coordinated, team-based care with:
- Care managers
- Pharmacists
- Social workers
- Behavioral health specialists
- Community partners
- Collaborate with Graduate Medical Education personnel
CLINICAL & ACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide compassionate, effective care for complex adult patients
- Model equitable, high-value care for Internal Medicine residents
- Maintain current expertise in Internal Medicine, health equity science, and value-based care
- Integrate evidence-based medicine into patient care and teaching
- Participate in quality improvement projects
- Mentor residents in QI methodology
- Use performance and outcomes data to improve clinical and educational performance
- Support operational planning and coordinated care delivery
- Help improve clinical processes and operating standards
- Address complex clinical, regulatory, and operational challenges
