Locums - Apopka, Florida | Emergency Medicine Opportunity

Clinical Role

Seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for a 3-month locums opportunity in Apopka, Florida. This opportunity is within a freestanding emergency department providing comprehensive emergency care with established transfer support for patients requiring inpatient admission.

Schedule & Coverage

• Start Date: November 1, 2026
• Duration: 3 months
• Projected annual volume of approximately 12,385 visits

Emergency Department Setting

• 11 private patient care beds
• Dedicated trauma room
• Diagnostic imaging available, including CT, ultrasound, and X-ray
• Dedicated ambulance bay for EMS access
• Patients requiring inpatient admission are transferred with coordinated handoff to intensivists, Hospitalists, and specialists

Support & Systems

• EMR: Meditech
• Intensivist, Hospitalist, and specialty support available for patients requiring inpatient care

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine physician through ABEM or AOBEM OR
• Board Certified in Family Medicine with extensive Emergency Medicine experience
• Minimum 3 years of full-time Emergency Medicine experience with at least 6,000 cumulative hours
• PALS and ACLS required
• ATLS recommended but not required for the freestanding emergency department setting
