Locums (Evenings) – Fort Worth, Texas, Area Psychiatric NP/PA Job

Clinical Role:

  • Locum tenens opportunity

  • Seeking a board certified or board eligible psychiatric nurse practitioner or physician assistant

  • Some post-training experience as an APP is required

  • ASAP start, ideally available for a dosing session as soon as next Wednesday

  • Initial coverage needed through mid-October, with the opportunity to extend

  • On-site coverage required

  • Anticipated need: 1–2 weekdays per week, with two-hour shifts

  • Preferred schedule: Wednesdays, 4:00–6:00 p.m.

  • Some Friday flexibility available, with the opportunity to expand coverage

  • Conduct psychiatric intake evaluations and provide in-person monitoring during Spravato® (esketamine nasal spray) treatment sessions

  • Structured outpatient setting with small patient cohorts

  • Typical session size: 3–4 patients

  • Opportunity to participate in innovative depression treatment programs

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric intake evaluations and determine eligibility for Spravato treatment

  • Prescribe Spravato and/or document clinical notes in the EMR

  • Provide on-site clinical support during dosing sessions

  • Monitor patients throughout the required observation period

  • Perform vital sign checks, safety assessments, and symptom monitoring

  • Complete accurate, timely documentation

  • Coordinate with operations teams and partner therapist offices

  • Maintain a calm, safe, and supportive treatment environment

Requirements:

  • Current, unrestricted DEA registration

  • Willingness to associate DEA registration with partner site locations as needed

  • Comfortable managing outpatient monitoring and clinical changes

  • Strong documentation skills and adherence to treatment protocols

  • Willingness to complete required Spravato REMS training

  • Psychiatry experience preferred

  • Experience with Spravato, ketamine, esketamine, TMS, infusion therapy, or patient monitoring preferred, but not required

  • Previous Spravato experience is not required

  • UHC/Optum network participation is a plus
