Locums – Richmond, Virginia, NP/PA Urgent Care Openings

Clinical Role

• Ongoing coverage until permanent providers are hired
• 3 full-time providers needed
• 100% outpatient urgent care
• Patient population ranges from newborn through geriatric
• No teaching or leadership responsibilities

Schedule & Coverage

• 3 shifts per week per provider
• 9 total shifts needed per week
• Clinics open 7 days per week, 8:00 am-8:00 pm
• Shifts are 12+ hours depending on patient flow
• Providers expected to see patients who arrive during operating hours
• No call
• Approximately 25-50 patients per day, depending on location and seasonal volume

Procedures & Clinical Expectations

• Simple, intermediate, and complex laceration repair with suturing or stapling
• Incision and drainage, including packing
• Foreign body removal
• Minor burn and skin lesion care
• Splinting, casting, and joint reduction
• X-ray interpretation and EKG evaluation
• Point-of-care testing and interpretation, including strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose
• Epistaxis management, including anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery
• Cerumen impaction removal
• Nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
• Higher-acuity patients transferred to an appropriate Emergency Department
• Epic EMR

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified NP or PA required
• Active Virginia license required
• Active BLS and DEA required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Medicine, Primary Care, or Urgent Care experience required
• Local candidates only
