Locums – Fredericksburg, Virginia, Emergency Medicine Nocturnist Opening

Clinical Role

• Start date: December 15, 2026
• 3-month assignment
• Night shifts only
• Approximately 8,500 anticipated Emergency Department visits annually
• Approximately 23 patient visits per day
• Additional opportunities may be available at another nearby location

Schedule & Coverage

• 24-hour physician coverage
• Shift changes at 7:00 am and 7:00 pm
• Nocturnist coverage: 7:00 pm-7:00 am
• Physician coverage may be adjusted as patient volume and flow increase

Emergency Department & Clinical Support

• Fully equipped trauma bay
• 11 private treatment rooms
• Separate adult and pediatric waiting areas
• Dedicated EMS ambulance access
• Patients requiring inpatient admission are transferred for continued care with Intensivists, Hospitalists, and specialists
• Access to advanced imaging, ICU and progressive care, cardiac, surgical, behavioral health, and specialty services

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABEM or AOBEM
• ABPS Emergency Medicine board-certified candidates accepted
• ATLS, ACLS, and PALS required
