Locums – Dover, Ohio OB/GYN Hospitalist (IMLC Accepted)

Schedule

• 24-hour shifts
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Weekday 24-hour call
• Monday–Friday coverage
• No scheduled weekend cases
• All inpatient work — no clinic

Hospital / Setting

• Hospital – Labor & Delivery & Emergency Department
• Inpatient
• 6 L&D beds
• Level I Nursery
• No NICU
• Neonatologist onsite daily to cover the nursery
• Approximately 500 deliveries annually
• OB/GYN mix: 80% OB / 20% GYN

Responsibilities

• Round on postpartum patients
• Manage spontaneous deliveries from the covered practice
• Perform scheduled C-sections
• Manage spontaneous labor patients from the practice
• Provide GYN ER call coverage when assigned
• Provide ER coverage when the scheduled date corresponds with unassigned ER call
• Manage L&D, including high-risk obstetric cases
• Perform GYN surgeries, including laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures
• No VBACs
• Deliveries at 35+ weeks

Support

• Sole provider onsite
• Nursing support staff
• Ability to call in another provider to assist with surgeries
• Another independent physician shares the unassigned ER call

Procedures

• All OB procedures
• C-sections
• Laparoscopic and minimally invasive GYN procedures
• Circumcisions are a plus

Patient Volume

• Approximately 500 deliveries annually
• 80% OB / 20% GYN
• 6 L&D beds

EMR

• Epic

Requirements

• Board Certified after 5 years of practice
• Board Eligible if less than 5 years of practice
• Active Ohio license
• IMLC accepted
• DEA required
• NRP certification required
• Experience managing high-risk OB cases and C-sections
