Locums Neurologist, Altoona, Pennsylvania

Position

• Locum Tenens

• Coverage needed 2 weeks per month minimum

• Full-time coverage needed for approximately 3 months

• Start Date: February 2, 2026

• End Date: February 5, 2027

• Dates are approximate and pending start of maternity leave

• Office-based position — Station Medical Center, NOT the hospital

• Outpatient General Neurology

• No hospital work

• No call

• Hospital Beds: 380

• Trauma Level III

Schedule

• Weekday, daylight clinic hours

• Option 1: 4 × 10-hour days, Monday–Thursday

  • 7:00 AM–5:30 PM

• Option 2: 5 × 8-hour days, Monday–Friday

  • 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

• Approximately 20 shifts/month

Licensure

• Pennsylvania medical license required to apply

• IMLC candidates accepted

• DEA required

• CSR license not required

Board Certification

• Board Certified

Certifications

• ACLS required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience

Call

• No call requirements

Practice Setting

• Outpatient General Neurology clinic

• Candidate will not work at the hospital

• Physician will not work solo

• APPs have their own independent schedules

• Epic EMR

Patient Volume

• Approximately 15 patients per 8-hour clinic day

• Approximately 19–24 patients per 10-hour clinic day

• Mix of new and established patients, primarily return patients

Typical Cases

• Tremor

• Migraine

• History of CVA

• Multiple sclerosis

• Myasthenia gravis

• Seizure

• Parkinson's disease

• Dementia

Additional Responsibilities

• Managing prescription refills

• Answering patient questions, with questions relayed through call center staff
