Clinical Role

• Seeking 1-2 Emergency Medicine physicians
• Approximately 15 open shifts per month
• Preference for providers who can cover a significant number of available shifts
• No call or inpatient responsibilities
• Teaching hospital
• Level III trauma setting
• Approximately 33,000 annual ED visits
• Average ED volume: approximately 77 patients per day
• Less than 3% of patients transferred out
• Peak volume typically occurs between 11:00 am-11:00 pm

• November 21-22: 7:00 am-7:00 pm

December 2026

• December 1: 7:00 pm-7:00 am
• December 4-5: 5:00 pm-2:00 am and 7:00 pm-7:00 am
• December 6, 11-13: 7:00 pm-7:00 am
• December 16: 5:00 pm-2:00 am
• December 17: 7:00 pm-7:00 am
• December 18: 5:00 pm-2:00 am and 7:00 pm-7:00 am
• December 19-22: 7:00 pm-7:00 am
• December 27: 5:00 pm-2:00 am
• December 28: 5:00 pm-2:00 am and 7:00 pm-7:00 am

January 2027

• January 2-3: 8:00 am-5:00 pm and 7:00 pm-7:00 am
• January 4: 8:00 am-5:00 pm and 5:00 pm-2:00 am
• January 7: 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Practice Model & Support

• 9- and 12-hour shifts
• 1-2 physicians provide daytime coverage
• 1 physician provides nighttime coverage
• 1-2 APPs
• APP supervision required
• Epic EMR

Requirements & Credentialing

• ABEM Board Certification required
• Active Iowa license or IMLC accepted
• ATLS required for trauma privileges
• Clean background required
