Locums – Berlin, New Hampshire, Emergency Medicine Job

Clinical Role:

• Seeking a board certified emergency medicine physician or an experienced, board certified family medicine physician

• Experience required

• Coverage needed: December 29, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. through December 30, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.

• Prefer a local or regional physician within driving distance

• Seeking a physician interested in joining the coverage roster and picking up occasional ongoing shifts at all three affiliate hospitals

• 24-hour shifts: 8:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m.

• APP support available 11:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m., seven days per week

• Solo physician coverage during remaining hours

• Annual emergency department volume: approximately 8,500 visits

• Average daily volume: approximately 25 patients

• Must be comfortable with solo coverage in a rural critical access hospital

• 24/7 support from anesthesia, general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedics, and hospitalist services

• Tertiary referral hospitals include DHMC, CMC, and Concord

• New Hampshire locum tenens or permanent license required; permanent license preferred

• No temporary licenses accepted

• NRP, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications required

• EMR: Meditech

Training and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum formal training: Successful completion of an ACGME-, AOA-, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada–accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, or Internal Medicine

• Required previous experience: At least 100 patients in the past 12 months

• Recent clinical activity in emergency medicine during at least two of the last four years

• Maintaining competency: At least 200 emergency medicine patients in the past 24 months
