Locums - Jackson, Michigan | NP/PA Cardiology Opportunity

Clinical Role

RecruitWell is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for a locums Cardiology opportunity in Jackson, Michigan. This hospital-based role primarily supports inpatient Cardiology rounding for an adult and geriatric population at a Level II Trauma Center. The client will also consider locums-to-permanent candidates.

Assignment Details

• Start date: January 2027

• Ongoing need

• Locums opportunity; locums-to-permanent candidates considered

• 2 providers needed

• Hospital-based Cardiology

• Level II Trauma Center

• Approximately 80% inpatient and 20% outpatient

• Majority of responsibilities involve inpatient rounding with physicians

• Adult and geriatric patient population

• Average daily volume: Approximately 20-25 patients

• Leadership and teaching responsibilities included

Schedule & Coverage

• Approximately 2 weeks per month

• 7 days on / 7 days off

• Sunday-Saturday

• 7:30 am-4:00 pm

• No overnight coverage

• No call

Practice Setting & Case Mix

• Inpatient and hospital-based Cardiology

• Predominantly adult and geriatric patients

• Majority of work centered on the inpatient Cardiology rounding service

• Limited outpatient responsibilities

• Post-procedure and discharge care

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Round on inpatient Cardiology patients with physicians

• Manage established and follow-up patients

• Provide discharge instructions

• Manage post-procedure care

• Coordinate ongoing Cardiology care and transitions

• Participate in teaching and leadership responsibilities as needed

• No procedural skills required

Support & Technology

• EMR: Epic

• Epic familiarity preferred

• Collaborative physician rounding model

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified NP or PA required

• Active Michigan license required

• Minimum 3 years of prior Cardiology experience required

• Experience must include both inpatient and outpatient settings

• Acute Care training preferred

• ACLS through the American Heart Association required

• BLS through the American Heart Association required

• Clean professional background required

• No malpractice history or license issues accepted

• Epic experience preferred
