Locums – Brooksville, Florida | Emergency Medicine Opportunity

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine physician for a 3-month locums opportunity in Brooksville, Florida. This role is based in a freestanding Emergency Department and requires flexibility to cover both day and night shifts. Internal Medicine-boarded physicians will also be considered.

Assignment Details

• Start date: January 7, 2027

• Assignment duration: 3 months

• 12-hour shifts

• Day and night shift coverage needed

• Must be flexible and willing to work nights

• Single-physician coverage

• Orientation and shadow shifts provided for physicians new to the system

Position Highlights

• Freestanding Emergency Department

• 12 Emergency Department bays

• Low-acuity patient mix anticipated

• Facility is not yet open, so established patient-per-hour volume is not currently available

• Single-provider coverage model

• Standard Emergency Department support staff

• Internal Medicine-boarded physicians accepted

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat Emergency Department patients

• Manage a broad range of low-acuity emergency presentations

• Perform appropriate diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning

• Determine disposition, including discharge, transfer, or admission as clinically indicated

• Coordinate care with nursing and Emergency Department support staff

• Complete timely clinical documentation

• Provide independent physician coverage during assigned shifts

Support & Technology

• 12 Emergency Department bays

• Standard Emergency Department support staff

• Orientation and shadow shifts available for providers new to the system

Requirements

• Board Certified required

• Emergency Medicine physicians preferred

• Internal Medicine-boarded physicians accepted

• Active Florida medical license required

• Must be willing to work both day and night shifts

• Must be comfortable with single-provider Emergency Department coverage
