Locums – Portage, Wisconsin | Emergency Medicine Opportunity (IMLC Accepted)

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking Board Certified Emergency Medicine physicians for urgent and ongoing locums coverage in Portage, Wisconsin. This Level IV Trauma Center provides Emergency Department and Urgent Care services with strong APP, specialty, telemedicine, and transport support. Multiple providers may be utilized to meet the coverage need, and IMLC candidates are accepted.

Assignment Details

• Urgent coverage need

• Ongoing coverage anticipated throughout 2027

• Multiple providers accepted

Day Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

• October 24 and 26, 2026

• November 2–3, 7, 9–11, 16–17, 20–21, and 27, 2026

• December 2, 9–10, and 13–16, 2026

Night Shifts: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

• November 14–15, 2026

Position Highlights

• Emergency Department/Urgent Care setting

• Approximately 40–60 patients over a 24-hour period

• Approximately 20 patients per shift

• 13-bed facility

• Level IV Trauma Center

• Multiple providers may be accepted

• IMLC accepted

• Epic EMR

• Helicopter onsite for higher-level transport needs

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage Emergency Department and Urgent Care patients

• Provide treatment for a broad range of acute and emergent conditions

• Stabilize patients and determine appropriate disposition

• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge planning

• Collaborate with APPs, Hospitalists, and specialty services

• Utilize telemedicine resources when appropriate

Support & Technology

• 2 APCs working alongside a physician during day/PM coverage

• General Surgery support

• Orthopedic support

• Collaborative Hospitalist team

• Tele-stroke services

• Tele-ICU services

• Helicopter onsite

• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine required

• Active Wisconsin medical license required

• IMLC candidates accepted

• ACLS required

• ATLS required

• Combined Emergency Department and Urgent Care environment

• Level IV Trauma Center

• Collaborative physician and APC staffing model

• Specialty, telemedicine, and air transport support available

• Multiple locums physicians may be used to fulfill the coverage schedule
