Locums – Richlands, Virginia | Non-Invasive Cardiology Opportunity

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking a Non-Invasive Cardiologist for an ongoing locums opportunity in Richlands, Virginia. This assignment includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with mornings typically focused on hospital work and afternoons spent seeing patients in the office. Call is shared with another Cardiologist.

Assignment Details

• Coverage: December 1, 2026 – ongoing

• Scheduled clinical hours plus call

• Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities

• Typical workflow:

  • Morning hospital coverage

  • Afternoon office clinic

• Call shared with another Cardiologist

• Approximately 1 weekend of call per month

• Beeper call

• Call ratio: 1:1

• 30-minute call response time required

• Assigned and unassigned patients

Position Highlights

• Mix of inpatient and outpatient Cardiology

• Approximately 10–12 clinic patients per shift

• Approximately 1–2 patients seen while on call

• Approximately 1–2 phone consultations

• Admissions required

• TEE experience preferred, but not required

• Small hospital setting

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Cardiology consultations

• Perform stress testing

• Perform generator changes

• Perform loop recorder insertions

• Interpret echocardiograms

• Perform cardioversion

• See outpatient Cardiology patients in the afternoon

• Participate in shared call coverage

• Manage assigned and unassigned patients

• Complete admissions as required

Procedures & Skills

• Stress testing

• Generator changes

• Loop recorder insertion

• Echocardiogram interpretation

• Cardioversion

• TEE preferred, but not required

Support & Technology

• 4-bed facility

• EMR: Athena and Meditech

Requirements

• Active Virginia medical license required

• Fellowship preferred

• ABLS required

• ACLS required

• ATLS required

• BLS required

• Must meet a 30-minute call response requirement

Organization & Team

• Combination of hospital and outpatient clinic coverage

• Shared call model with another Cardiologist

• Morning hospital responsibilities followed by afternoon clinic

• Inpatient consultation, procedural, diagnostic, and outpatient responsibilities
