Locums – Frankfort, Kentucky | Emergency Medicine Opportunity

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for a locums opportunity in Frankfort, Kentucky. This is an ongoing need with multiple full-time openings and a mix of morning, mid, and night shifts. Candidates must have scheduling flexibility and be willing to work nights.

Assignment Details

• Start: ASAP

• Assignment length: 1 year

• Four full-time openings

• 10-hour shifts

• Morning, mid, and night shifts

• Scheduling flexibility required

• Must be willing to work nights

• 2-day shadow and orientation required

Position Highlights

• Multiple full-time locums openings

• Standard Emergency Department acuity

• Standard Emergency Medicine procedures

• Nursing and APP support

• 1–2 Emergency Medicine physicians per shift plus APPs

• Temporary privileges may be available for clean files

• Providers within the 50-mile radius are temporarily being accepted

• Non-trauma facility

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat Emergency Department patients

• Manage a broad range of standard Emergency Medicine presentations

• Perform standard Emergency Department procedures

• Coordinate care with APPs, nursing staff, and other hospital teams

• Complete admissions and transfers as clinically appropriate

• Provide timely clinical documentation

Support & Facility Details

• 173 beds

• Average census: 85

• Approximately 3,240 annual ER admissions

• Nursing support

• APP support

• 1–2 Emergency Medicine physicians per shift

• Not a trauma center

Requirements

• ABEM Board Certification preferred

• Non-ABEM physicians may be considered with Emergency Medicine experience

• Active Kentucky medical license required

• PALS required

• ACLS required

  • Current ACLS accepted

  • Annual testing through the medical staff office may be available

• ATLS:

  • ABEM-certified physicians may provide proof of having completed ATLS previously

  • Current ATLS required for physicians who are not board certified

• Must have scheduling flexibility and be willing to work nights

Credentialing

• Temporary privileges may be available for providers with clean files

• Active Kentucky license required
