Licensure & Eligibility

• State License: Pennsylvania

• License Required to Apply: No — candidates needing to obtain a Pennsylvania license will be considered

• DEA: Required

• CSR: Not required

• Board Status: Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine

• ABPS: Not accepted

• Other Specialties: Physicians board-certified in another specialty may be considered if their certification is current and they meet the additional requirements.

Required Certifications

• ACLS

• ATLS

• PALS

Additional Requirements:

• Non-Emergency Medicine-boarded physicians must hold ACLS, ATLS, and PALS.

• Non-Emergency Medicine-boarded physicians must complete a sedation quiz.

Shift Availability

Shift times vary. Providers must be flexible and able to work different shifts.

• Shift A: 6 AM–3 PM

• Shift B: 8 AM–5 PM

• Shift C: 9 AM–5 PM

• Shift D: 12 PM–8 PM

• Shift E: 2 PM–11 PM

• Shift F: 4 PM–12 AM

• Shift G: 4 PM–1 AM

• Shift H: 10 PM–6 AM

Advanced Practice Provider Coverage:

• Day Shift: 7 AM–7 PM

• Night Shift: 7 PM–7 AM

Clinical & Practice Details

• Annual Patient Volume: Approximately 54,000

• Annual Admissions: Approximately 13,500

• Admission Rate: 25%

• Patient Population: 93% adults / 7% pediatrics

• Bed Count: 46

• Trauma Designation: None

• Coverage Model: 2–6 providers on duty, depending on the time of day and day of the week

• Admissions Process: ED physicians request admissions; care transfers to the receiving unit after the patient leaves the ED.
