Locums – Roanoke, Virginia, Radiologist Job

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified Radiologist for locums coverage in Roanoke, Virginia. This is a busy Level I Trauma environment with a mix of routine and emergent inpatient and outpatient imaging, cross-sectional reads, and some procedural responsibilities.

Assignment Details

• Start: February 2027

• Assignment length: 26 weeks

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Approximately 45 hours per week

• Preference for 2 weeks of coverage per month

• Will consider 1 week per month

• Night call required

• Night call needed approximately 1–3 nights per week

• Evening and weekend coverage may also be available

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Interpret routine inpatient and outpatient imaging studies

• Interpret emergent imaging studies

• Read approximately 30–45 cross-sectional studies per day

• Participate in night call coverage

• Perform radiology procedures as clinically appropriate

• Provide timely interpretation and communication of urgent findings

• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation

Evening & Weekend Coverage

• Providers interested in evening or weekend shifts may cover Hot Seat emergent studies

• Coverage focused on urgent and emergent imaging

Requirements

• Board Certified in Radiology required

• Active Virginia medical license required

• Active DEA required

• Must be comfortable reading 30–45 cross-sectional studies per day

• Must be comfortable in a busy Level I Trauma setting

• Must participate in night call coverage

Credentialing

• Approximately 100 days

• Virginia medical license verification required with submission

• Board Certification verification required with submission

• Modality checklist required with submission
