Locums - Miami, Florida, Emergency Medicine Opening

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine physician for locums coverage in Miami, Florida. This is a busy community Emergency Department with strong throughput, a broad adult case mix, minimal pediatric volume, and no trauma. Providers must be comfortable in a high-volume setting and flexible with both day and night coverage.

Assignment Details

• Start: December 30, 2026

• Coverage anticipated through August 2027

• 10-hour shifts

• AM and PM coverage needed

• PM coverage is the primary need beginning in December

• Scheduling flexibility required

• Must be willing to work nights

Orientation

• EMR training required if not familiar with Expanse

• Shadow shift required if provider does not have prior HCA experience

Position Highlights

• Busy community Emergency Department

• High-functioning ER with strong patient throughput

• 50 Emergency Department bays

• Approximately 2 patients per hour

• No trauma

• Minimal pediatric volume

• Providers manage all acuity levels

• Well-staffed Emergency Department

• Approximately 30% admission rate

• Single physician coverage only from 3:00 AM – 6:00 AM

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat Emergency Department patients

• Manage patients across all acuity levels

• Provide care for a primarily adult patient population

• Perform standard Emergency Medicine procedures

• Stabilize and manage acute and emergent conditions

• Coordinate admissions and transfers as appropriate

• Collaborate with nursing and ancillary Emergency Department staff

• Complete timely clinical documentation

Support & Staffing

• Staggered Emergency Medicine provider shifts

• Single physician coverage from 3:00 AM – 6:00 AM

• Well-staffed community Emergency Department

• No nurse or APP triage model for lower-acuity patients

Requirements

• Board Certified through ABEM required

• Active Florida medical license required

• Must be comfortable working in a busy community Emergency Department

• Scheduling flexibility required

• Must be willing to work nights

Support & Technology

• EMR: Expanse

• EMR training provided if needed

• HCA experience preferred for smoother orientation
