Locums – Cardiac Anesthesiologist

Location: Rock Island and Moline, Illinois
Position Type: Locum Tenens

Clinical Role

• Provide anesthesia services at two locations in the Rock Island and Moline areas.

• Perform cases independently and provide some supervision of CRNAs.

• Support cardiac and Watchman procedures, with an additional provider needed for Watchman cases.

• Must be proficient in spinals, nerve blocks, and epidurals.

• Be available for limited OR call and occasional backup call.

• Call response time: 20 minutes.

• EMR: Epic.

Qualifications

• Cardiac anesthesia and TEE experience preferred but not required.

• AHA ACLS certification required.

• Must be proficient in spinals, blocks, and epidurals.

• Case logs required as proof of epidural, spinal, and block experience.

• Illinois medical licensure requirements should be confirmed.

Schedule and Coverage

Rock Island

• Day coverage: 7:00 a.m. until cases are complete.

• OR coverage: 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (5 ORs); 3:00–5:00 p.m. (2 ORs); 5:00–7:00 p.m. (2 ORs).

• Call: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

• Additional case types include cardiac, endoscopy, and vascular procedures.

Moline

• Day coverage: 7:00 a.m. until cases are complete.

• OR coverage: 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (5 ORs); 3:00–5:00 p.m. (3 ORs).

• Call: 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

• CRNAs take OB call.

• Additional case types include gynecology and pain management.

Rotation: Weekly rotation details to be confirmed.

Staffing and Facilities

• Daytime staffing: approximately 3 physicians and 10 CRNAs.

• Rock Island: 4 ORs, 1 endoscopy room, and 1 cardiovascular room.

• Moline: 5 ORs.

• Some CRNA supervision and independent case performance required.
