Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for ongoing locums Neurosurgery coverage in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role includes both inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic responsibilities, with coverage needed approximately 2–3 weeks per month.

Assignment Details

• Start: ASAP

• Ongoing need

• Coverage needed approximately 2–3 weeks per month

• Coverage weeks may vary based on the schedules of employed NPs and PAs

• Inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic coverage

• Flexible clinic schedule:

  • Five 8-hour shifts per week, or

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week

• Multiple providers accepted

Position Highlights

• NP/PA Neurosurgery locums opportunity

• Mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities

• Telehealth, outpatient, and inpatient practice settings

• Approximately 8–10 scheduled clinic patients per day

• Inpatient rounding volume varies

• Admissions required

• Stroke Certified hospital

• Level II Trauma Center

• Epic EMR

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Neurosurgery rounding

• Evaluate and manage hospitalized Neurosurgery patients

• Provide outpatient Neurosurgery clinic coverage

• Manage scheduled clinic patients

• Complete admissions as required

• Provide telehealth care as appropriate

• Collaborate with Neurosurgeons, nursing staff, and other clinical teams

• Complete timely clinical documentation

Support & Technology

• Established employed NP and PA team

• Outpatient clinic located within the hospital

• Stroke Certified hospital

• Level II Trauma Center

• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Prior Neurosurgery experience required

• BLS required

• Must be comfortable with both inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic responsibilities

• Must be available approximately 2–3 weeks per month

• Hospital-based Neurosurgery program

• Combination of inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth care

• Coverage coordinated with existing employed NPs and PAs
