Locums – Kansas City, Missouri, GI Hospitalist Job (IMLC Accepted)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 3 months, ongoing
Coverage Needed: Minimum of 1 week per month, with the potential for 3–4 weeks per month

Schedule & Shift Details

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Coverage across three hospital locations:

  • 3 days at North

  • 1 day at South

  • 1 day at Plaza

• Providers must be available to cover all locations during their assigned week.

Position Details

• Hospital-based inpatient GI lab performing general inpatient and outpatient procedures.

• Approximately 10–13 scopes per day.

• Typical daily workflow includes:

  • Approximately 4 outpatient procedures in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.

  • Inpatient procedures scheduled throughout the day.

• Adult patient population only.

• ERCP and EUS are not required. Providers who offer these procedures may discuss the possibility with the medical director during the interview.

• There may be an opportunity to spend 1–2 days per week in the outpatient clinic attached to the hospital, seeing approximately 8–10 patients per day.

Inpatient Support

• APPs are responsible for inpatient rounds.

• The physician will occasionally consult with APPs and must be available to see patients as needed.

• Approximately 30–60 minutes per day is allocated for physician consultations, depending on patient census.

EMR

• Epic

Required Skills

• General Gastroenterology

• General GI procedures and scopes

Requirements

• Board certification required.

• Active Missouri and Kansas medical licenses required.

• IMLC candidates accepted, provided they have both required state licenses.

• DEA required.

• BLS and ACLS required.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required.

Credentialing

• Estimated timeframe: 60–90 days.
