Locums - Potsdam, New York, NP/PA Hospitalist Opening

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locums Hospitalist opportunity in Potsdam, New York. This role focuses on providing inpatient medical care to acutely ill adult patients with a broad range of medical conditions. ICU experience is required.

Assignment Details

• Start: January 6, 2027

• Assignment length: 26 weeks

• 14 shifts per month

• 7 days on / 7 days off

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• Candidates must be willing to work the 7-on / 7-off schedule

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Provide general medical care to hospitalized adult patients

• Evaluate patients upon admission

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute medical conditions

• Coordinate inpatient care

• Order and interpret diagnostic testing, laboratory studies, and imaging

• Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans

• Coordinate with primary care physicians during and after hospitalization

• Complete timely clinical documentation

Patient Volume & Acuity

• Adult, acutely ill patient population

• Approximately 10–15 patients per provider

• 109-bed facility

Support & Technology

• 1 physician

• 1 Nurse Practitioner

• 1 LPN

• Automated medication dispensing system: Pyxis

• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Board Certified Hospitalist required

• Active New York license required

• AHA BLS required

• AHA ACLS required

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required

• Residents and fellows will not be considered
