Locums - St. Petersburg, Florida, Emergency Medicine Opening

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine physician for an ongoing locums opportunity in St. Petersburg, Florida. This is a fully clinical role with both day and night coverage needs in a high-acuity Emergency Medicine setting.

Assignment Details

• Start: January 2027

• Ongoing until a permanent physician is hired

• Typically 10–12-hour clinical shifts

• Both AM and PM coverage needed

• 100% clinical responsibilities

• Open to physicians of all experience levels

Orientation

• 1 day of orientation / shadowing

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat a broad range of Emergency Department patients

• Manage approximately 1.57 patients per hour

• Coordinate admissions, consultations, and disposition

• Work with multiple specialty service lines available on call

• Complete timely clinical documentation

Patient Volume & Practice Environment

• Approximately 79 Emergency Department patients per day

• Approximately 40% admission rate

• Comprehensive Stroke Center

• 1–2 Emergency Medicine physicians onsite at a time

Support

• 2 APP shifts per day for lower-acuity coverage

• Standard Emergency Department nursing and ancillary support

Requirements

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine required

• Active Florida medical license required
