Schedule & Coverage Details

• 24-hour OB Hospitalist shifts.

• OB Emergency Department (OBED)-only GYN coverage.

• Hospitalists provide first-assist support for community OB/GYNs.

• Community OB/GYNs provide backup coverage.

• Hospitalists do not directly back up midwives; however, the hospital accepts transfers from home births and birth centers.

• Hospitalists do not provide backup coverage for Family Practice.

Hospital & Clinical Details

• Level II NICU.

• Approximately 198 hospital deliveries per month.

• Approximately 24 deliveries per month attributed to hospitalists.

• Approximately 54.6% of encounters involve high-risk diagnoses.

• Approximately 398 non-delivery patient encounters per month.

• Approximately 41.3% of surgeries are GYN-related.

• Circumcisions are not required.

Specialty Support & Resources

• MFM available on-site, with backup available after hours only.

• In-house anesthesia coverage.

• No residency program.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour OB Hospitalist coverage.

• Provide OBED-only GYN coverage.

• First-assist for community OB/GYNs.

• Manage high-risk OB patients and non-delivery encounters as needed.
