Locums Neurologist – Altoona, PA

Position Overview

• Position Type: Locum Tenens

• Location: Altoona, Pennsylvania

• Setting: Outpatient General Neurology

• Coverage Need: Full-time coverage for approximately 3 months

• Minimum Commitment: 2 weeks per month

• Estimated Dates: 12/7/2026 – 2/5/2027

• Estimated Shifts: 20 shifts/month

• Trauma Level: Level III

• Patient Volume: 15 patients per 8-hour day; 19–24 patients per 10-hour day

Availability / Schedule

• Option 1: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (8-hour shifts)

• Option 2: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (10-hour shifts)

• Weekday, daytime clinic hours

• No call responsibilities

• No hospital rounding or inpatient coverage

• Dates are approximate, pending maternity leave

• APPs have independent schedules

• Physician will work alongside an existing clinical team (not solo)

Licensure & Certifications

• State License: Pennsylvania medical license required

• License Required to Apply: Yes

• IMLC Candidates: Accepted

• Board Status: Board Certified

• Minimum Experience: 1 year

• ACLS: Required

• DEA: Required

• CSR: Not required

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient general neurology evaluations and follow-ups.

• Manage a variety of neurological conditions, including:

  • Tremors

  • Migraines

  • History of CVA

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)

  • Myasthenia gravis

  • Seizures

  • Parkinson's disease

  • Dementia

• Manage medication refills and patient questions.

• See a mix of new and established patients, primarily follow-ups.

• Respond to questions routed through call center staff.
