Locums – Plano, Texas, NP/PA Pediatric Critical Care Opening

Start Date: January 4, 2027

Position Overview
A specialized pediatric critical care team of physicians and nurses provides collaborative, round-the-clock monitoring and care for patients before and after surgery. The team is seeking an experienced NP/PA to provide scheduled coverage and participate in required on-call coverage.

Schedule & Coverage

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week

• Shift hours: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

• Scheduled coverage and on-call availability required

• Minimum call requirements may apply

• Must have previous CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) experience

Education & Experience Requirements

• Master’s or post-master’s degree required

• Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program with practice authority in Texas required

• Advanced specialty courses required by DCH Credentialing must be completed within the required timeframe and maintained on an ongoing basis

• Recommended: 2–3 years of pediatric critical care experience

Certifications & Licensure

• Advanced Practice Certification

• One of the following board certifications:

  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC)

  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC)

  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care (CPNP-PC)

  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care (CPNP-AC)

• Active, unencumbered Texas Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses required

• BLS, PALS, and ACLS required
