Locums - Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, NP/PA Emergency Medicine Opening

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time locums Emergency Medicine opportunity in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. This role focuses primarily on lower-acuity and fast-track patients while providing care to both adult and pediatric populations.

Assignment Details

• Start: February 1, 2027

• Initial duration: 6 months

• Option to extend

• Full-time: 40 hours per week

• Four 10-hour shifts per week

• Available shifts:

  • 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• Days, nights, and weekends required

Orientation

• 8 hours

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Approximately 10 patients per shift

• Primarily lower-acuity and fast-track Emergency Department patients

• Manage own patient panel

• Work independently or alongside a physician based on patient acuity

• Physician available for consultation

• Adult and pediatric patient population

• Perform history and physical examinations

• Order diagnostic testing and develop treatment plans

• Manage patient discharges

Procedures & Skills

• Suturing and laceration repair

• Incision and drainage

• Splinting and fracture management

• Joint reductions

• Intubations

Practice Environment

• 25-bed setting

• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• For NPs: FNP or AGACNP

• NP licensure must permit treatment of pediatric patients

• Active Massachusetts license required

• ACLS required

• BLS required

• PALS required

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required

• Urgent Care experience does not satisfy the Emergency Department experience requirement
