Locums - Mason City, Iowa, Non-Invasive Cardiology Opening (IMLC Accepted)

Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified or truly Board Eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist for full-time locums coverage in Mason City, Iowa. This role includes outpatient clinic, inpatient Cardiology responsibilities, outreach coverage, diagnostic interpretation, and teaching within a Cardiology fellowship program.

Assignment Details

• Start: ASAP through January 2027

• Temporary privileges may be available

• Full-time coverage needed

• Ideal availability: 4 weeks per month

• Minimum availability: 2 weeks per month

• Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM

• Multi-location coverage required

• Outreach rotation included

Call Coverage

• Weekday call rotation: 1:4

• Weekend call rotation: Approximately 1:5 or 1:6

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient General Cardiology care

• Manage approximately 15–20 clinic patients per day

• Participate in inpatient hospital rotations

• Average inpatient census: Approximately 15–25 patients

• Round on Cardiology patients

• Admit and discharge patients

• Participate in Doctor-of-the-Week responsibilities

• Provide teaching and supervision for Cardiology fellows

• Rotate through Echo coverage

• Interpret echocardiograms

• Interpret nuclear studies

• Interpret EKGs

• Interpret cardiac monitors

• Perform TEEs and cardioversions when assigned to inpatient service

• Rotate among designated outreach and hospital locations

Practice Environment

• 9+ Cardiology physicians

• 2 Cardiac Surgeons

• 5 Cardiology APPs

• 2 Cardiac Surgery PAs

• Team-based nursing model

• Approximately 2 exam rooms per provider

• No procedures performed in the clinic

• Medical imaging available

• No onsite lab

• No onsite pharmacy

• Predominantly Medicare and commercially insured adult population

• EMR: Epic

Teaching

• Cardiology fellowship program

• Approximately 9 fellows

• Teaching opportunities included with inpatient service

Requirements

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Cardiology required

• Board Eligible candidates must be within 5 years of fellowship completion

• Fellowship training required

• General Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography experience required

• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC with Letter of Qualification required
