Locums – Marion, Indiana, OB Hospitalist Job

Seeking an experienced OB/GYN locum to provide solo 24-hour call coverage during short-term vacation needs. This occasional-coverage opportunity offers a well-organized OB department with an efficient, supportive team and particularly strong C-section support.

Coverage Details

• Coverage Type: 24-hour beeper call

• Schedule: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM

• Dates Needed: December 23, 24, and 25, 2026

• Potential for ongoing coverage once or twice per quarter for provider vacations

• Coverage Model: Solo coverage

• Setting: Hospital-based OB coverage only; no clinic responsibilities

• Support: Experienced, efficient staff with strong C-section support

Clinical Responsibilities
The provider will be responsible for routine and emergent OB coverage, including:

• Vaginal deliveries

• Cesarean sections

• OB call coverage for planned births and unscheduled walk-in presentations

High-Risk OB

• High-risk cases are managed onsite when needed.

• Staff providers proactively coordinate vacations around known high-risk deliveries.

• No scheduled high-risk cases are expected during the requested coverage dates.

Volume Expectations
Recent monthly delivery volumes:

• October 2025: 30 births

• November 2025: 21 births

• December 2025: 29 births

• January 2026: 33 births

Volume varies depending on planned births and unscheduled walk-in presentations. The case mix includes both vaginal deliveries and C-sections.

Call Expectations

• Callback frequency varies based on delivery volume.

• Provider must be comfortable responding to unscheduled OB presentations.

• No scheduled high-risk cases are expected during the coverage dates.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN

• Active Indiana medical license

• Indiana CSR and DEA

• Comfortable providing independent, solo OB call coverage

• Confident performing both vaginal deliveries and C-sections

• Flexible and reliable for short-notice coverage needs

• Emergency privileges available for qualified providers
