Locum Tenens – General Cardiologist | Bloomington, Illinois

Availability & Schedule

• Start Date: December 21, 2026

• Estimated Shifts: 20 per month

• Shift Length: 24-hour shifts

• Onsite Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, followed by overnight call

• Weekend Coverage: 1:4 call rotation

• Call Response Time: 30 minutes

• Proximity Requirement: Must remain within 30 minutes while on call

• Schedule: Full-time or part-time

• Coverage: Ongoing

Licensure & Qualifications

• Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible

• State License: Active Illinois medical license required at submission

• IMLC: Not accepted

• DEA: Required

• CSR: Required

• Minimum Experience: 1 year

• Certifications: ACLS and BLS

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient cardiology coverage, including hospital rounding and new consults.

• Average patient volume of 15–20 per day.

• Work alongside an APN during coverage.

• Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).

• Nuclear medicine and stress test interpretation preferred.

• Cardioversion experience preferred.

• Tilt table experience preferred.

Practice Setting & Support

• Inpatient setting.

• Team-based coverage; providers will not work solo.

• APN support during hospital rotations.

• Outpatient noninvasive testing handled by another provider.

• EMR: EPIC
