Locum Tenens – Non-Invasive Cardiologist | Easton, Maryland

Position Overview

Seeking a Board Certified Non-Invasive Cardiologist for ongoing weekend-only inpatient cardiology coverage. This opportunity involves a 1:6 weekend call rotation, providing inpatient rounding, new consultations, and management of acute cardiac conditions.

No outpatient clinic responsibilities.

Availability & Schedule

Start Date: February 8, 2027
Estimated Shifts: 2 per month
Coverage Type: Part-time, weekend-only
Call Rotation: 1:6 weekends
Shift Schedule: Friday at 5:00 PM through Monday at 8:00 AM
On-Call: Yes
Call Requirements: Telephone, beeper, and 30-minute response time
Work Independently: Yes

Licensure & Qualifications

Specialty: Non-Invasive Cardiology
Board Status: Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease
State License: Active Maryland medical license required to apply
IMLC: Not accepted
DEA: Required
Maryland CDS: Required
Minimum Experience: 2 years following fellowship
Preferred Experience: 3–5 years
Certifications: ACLS and BLS
Additional Requirements:
- Recent inpatient cardiology experience.
- Independent weekend call experience.
- Must be able to obtain hospital privileges.
- Active DEA and Maryland CDS registrations required before starting.

Clinical Responsibilities

Provide weekend inpatient cardiology coverage.
Perform inpatient cardiology rounding.
Evaluate and manage new cardiology consultations.
Manage acute cardiac conditions during assigned weekend coverage.
Provide independent call coverage.
No outpatient clinic responsibilities.

Practice Setting & Technology

Setting: Inpatient hospital coverage.
EMR: Epic
Coverage Model: Independent physician coverage.
Physicians will report for scheduled weekend inpatient coverage.
Orientation and reporting instructions will be coordinated before the first assignment.

Additional Assignment Details

Business casual attire or solid-colored scrubs with a white coat and hospital identification badge, as required.
Bring a valid photo ID.
Specific arrival instructions and parking information will be provided before the assignment.
