Columbia, Maryland Primary Care Physician Job

Clinical Role:

• Seeking a primary care physician for a full-time, in-person opportunity
• Client is open to considering family medicine or internal medicine physicians
• Join an established group practice serving the Howard County community for 25 years
• Work alongside physicians and certified registered nurse practitioners
• Practice emphasizes accessible, inclusive care, strong patient relationships, and improving community health
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm
• Patient volume: About 21 patients per day, 4–5 days per week
• EMR: Athena
• No NP/APP supervision required
• Leadership role: Supervises all Clinical Laboratory Operations and staff (10 employees total, 2 of them direct reports in Clinical Lab Management)
• Two-year minimum supervising a high-complexity CLIA laboratory required
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Develop personalized treatment plans and prescribe medications and other therapies
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Provide preventive care, vaccinations, and patient education
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Refer patients to specialists when appropriate
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate electronic health records
• Required credentials:
  • Maryland medical license
  • DEA license
  • Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) license
